United Conservative Leader Jason Kenney has issued a statement following the nomination of Shane Getson as the party’s candidate in Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland for the 2019 provincial election:
“Over two days of voting, more than 620 United Conservative members in Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland cast ballots for their preferred candidate for the next election from amongst two great contestants.
“I would like to congratulate Shane Getson on winning an incredibly competitive race.
“Shane has extensive experience in business and owns a major projects consulting company. A civil engineering technologist by trade, Shane also has an extensive background in agriculture having grown up a mixed farming operation run by his family. He and his wife have four children and Shane has a deep understanding of the issues most important to the people of Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland. Shane is a valuable member of the United Conservative team as we work to present Albertans with a common-sense alternative to the NDP. I am pleased to welcome Shane as the United Conservative candidate in Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland.
“I would also like to thank Leah Wood and her team for their participation in the democratic process and dedication to our movement.”
