JUST THE FACTS | Alberta’s parks aren’t going anywhere

DSC_0300

During the election, United Conservatives promised Albertans that we would strengthen partnerships with non-profit park societies and Indigenous groups to improve care for our parks and save Albertans money.

That’s exactly what we’re doing.

Unfortunately, the NDP have spent months spreading fear that Alberta’s parks are being sold off for industrial development.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Here are the facts:

  • Parks are not being sold
  • Parks are not being sold for industrial development
  • Park lands are not being closed to the public
  • All 164 locations will remain protected under the ownership and jurisdiction of Alberta Environment and Parks
  • Over the years, Alberta has already established partnerships in 121 provincial parks and recreation areas to manage facilities
