  • Boosted funding for addiction and mental health supports from $87 million to $275 million.
  • Made treatment for opioid addiction available on-demand anywhere in the province through the Virtual Opioid Dependency Program. This program allows Albertans anywhere in the province to get same day access to evidence based addiction treatment medications with no fees and no wait list.
  • Created over 10,000 new treatment spaces to support more Albertans in their pursuit of recovery from addiction. This means 10,000 more Albertans can access detox, treatment, and recovery services free of charge.
  • Committed $92 million over three years to significantly expand mental health supports for youth in partnership with CASA Mental Health. This includes the creation of 20 new Mental Health Classrooms, building two new inpatient mental health treatment centres for youth, and significantly expanding their day treatment programs.
